First off, once you download the new system software, you will be asked to accept a change to our Terms of Service. In an effort for more unity between PlayStation Network (PSN) and other Sony Entertainment Network services, your “PSN Account” will now be named “Sony Entertainment Network Account.” Please note that this change is one in name only and will not change the PSN that you know and love. You’ll still play games online, still have access to the latest downloadable games and add-ons, and still experience a wide variety of movies, sports and music across PSN.
With this system software update (v4.10), we’ll also be updating the PS3 Internet Browser with improved display speed.
Boxee Box has just released its 1.5 software update behind live TV function of its new tuner that we had a chance to check out at CES. There are also some other functionalities the update enables. With the tuner add-on, this update, and the main Boxee Box hardware, users can access over-the-air TV broadcasts as well as Internet content.
Apart from live broadcasts, viewers can expect a new user interface, better search, fresh library screens with simpler filtering, and management of browser pop-ups. It also now integrates Rotten Tomatoes and social account pairing.
The Live TV aspect will let users share what they're watching with friends using Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. It displays how many people are watching a particular show at the same time among a friend circle. Rarely accessed channels can be hidden or renamed as well. The interface is also said to make jumping from a live show to more episodes from the web much quicker and simpler as well.
Boxee Box said it would look into adding a DVR feature to a future update. The update will arrive to all Boxee Box users over the next three days
Note: The firmware update went well. Updated to version 1.5.0.23615-80d5f5b dated January 18, 2012.

The world can look forward to super high definition movies at home in 2013 if the expectations of LG and its vice president of Public Affairs and Communications at LG Electronics USA are to be met.
Pocket-LintAt the LG press conference, on the unveiling of the 84-inch 3D Ultra Definition TV, Pocket-lint quizzed John Taylor as to why the company was set to release a 4K2K set in the US, a place which currently benefits from no such resolution broadcasts at the present time.
"Well, firstly, our 3D UD TV can upgrade 1080p signals to a 4K2K output but we're also expecting the arrival of 4K Blu-rays in 2013," he exclusively revealed.
Should this indeed happen as promised, we can look forward to the same technology coming to the UK at the same time with a raft of Ultra Definition TV sets ready to meet it.
UPDATE: It's official. Not only has LG hinted at 4K2K Blu-rays, but Sony has announced a 4K2K Blu-ray player at its CES press conference in Las Vegas. Guess we'll all have to upgrade our TVs again after all.
Both have been promised as coming soon in recent weeks, and now Boxee has confirmed that two fairly big new rollouts are underway. The first is the Boxee Box Live TV dongle, which is now shipping and will let you augment your Boxee Box with some OTA TV channels for $50. You can get a closer look at it in our hands-on from CES earlier this month. Alongside it, Boxee is also rolling out its Boxee 1.5 software update, which boasts a new UI and a number of other refinements including better search, new library screens and filtering options, browser pop-up management, and the addition of Rotten Tomatoes listings. Boxee says it's staggering the release over the next 72 hours, but those eager to check it out can find instructions for a manual update at the support link below.
